Many women know before they ever have their first child, how many children they want, or how many they plan to have. Many other women feel most comfortable leaving this open to whatever they feel God/Source/The Divine has in mind for them. Some, like me, think they know, and then change their minds along the way--maybe several times!

I am an only child, and I loved it that way, growing up. I initially thought I didn't want kids at all. After my first was born, I thought I was done. One baby seemed to be a handful for my older, financially stable parents - so I figured, surely, I was already in over my head..

One common concern I hear from new moms is either surprise or frustration about the high level of neediness that their babies display:

"She cries every time I try to put her down."

"I can't get anything done without having to stop and nurse him."

This is often one reason why many new moms start to doubt whether they're...

I'd just like to make one thing clear:  I am not a birth zealot.

Really--I'm not!

I admit that I deeply believe in natural childbirth.  Personally, I'd recommend trying to keep it as natural as possible, in most circumstances.  However--I recognize that that's not the path for everyone.  And that's OKAY.

I don't want to take away your epidurals.  I don't think less of women who choose hospital birth, or have misgivings about natural birth.

I certainly don't want any woman, anywhere, to feel ashamed about her birth choices.

If, in one's fervor to "convert" women toward natural childbirth, they also made them feel shame over their past (or current!) choices--then we are Missing the Point Entirely.

The Bach Flower Essences, or Remedies, is a collection of 38 tinctures that are useful in correcting emotional imbalances.  They are similar to homeopathic medicine in that they are very safe and effective, but also unique.

They have been made the same way since the 1930s, according to the methodology of Dr. Edward Bach, who developed each of the remedies.  Through his work as a physician, Dr. Bach came to believe that illness is the end result of disharmony between body and mind.  He sought to treat people holistically, by turning to nature to balance their emotions...

Welcome to my new blog!  In addition to updates about my services and website, I'll be posting news stories, articles, information, product reviews, and much more here.

For now, I'll post a bit about myself.  I'm a mother, a homeschooler, and a huge advocate of holistic and natural living.  In my opinion, health care is primarily self care.  Instead of blindly trusting the lines we are all fed, I question things, research, and follow my own path.  I trust my intuition, and listen to my body and heart.

My approach is to help people to find their own way, instead of telling them that there's only one way.  I support women in all the ways that they birth, without judgment.  My role as birth consultant is to be a sounding board, an educator, a catalyst for women's rethinking and re-evaluation of the pregnancy/birth status quo.

I empower women to seek more:  more autonomy, more respect, more choices, and more knowledge - to facilitate the best birth experience possible for mother and baby.
